Apex Legends comes as a character-driven and squad-based Battle Royale shooter where teamwork makes all the difference. So, if you want to claim some good rankings in this game, the following tips are just the right way to go forward.
If you're in Diamond, there may be a possibility that you are already aware of the most of the tricks and drills of this game. Hence, the tips mentioned below are strictly for the players between Bronze and Platinum.
Handy tips to improve your ranking in Apex legends
The biggest mistake done by most of the players in Gold and Platinum is that all of them attempts to farm kills beyond their requirements. As far as Ranked is concerned, you will be entitled to some good points for every given kill and assist to a maximum of six. This further means that your Kill Points (KP) will be maxed out at six kills, assists, or any other combination of the two scenarios. The same points are then multiplied on basis of your placement during the match.
This further means that once you hit out 5-6 KP, you don't really need to take on every battle. Unless you really want to, picking on unwanted battles and fights will only destroy your resources. Sometimes you can compromise with a late game position while playing for the win itself.
Even though it may not come as a real excitement, it will bring you better Apex ranking. So, your goal needs to be to win games, and not going for 4k damage or 20 kill badges.
Playing Apex legends takes you to a whole different world of excitement. Besides, the more you progress, more your opponent's credentials matters. It's understood that few users in Diamond and above plays off-meta legends. Still, this involves that rare list of Apex Predators who has mastered this game. While you may not need to confront those experts, you must at least have a bettor knowledge about playing the following characters.
To become a master of this game, you must either know about these characters or how to tackle their individual abilities. You may require to have both the virtues but having a deep knowledge of these counter meta characters is quite essential.
One of the other major mistakes committed by the players is holding close the sunken cost fallacy. This means that once they are committed towards a battle, they always see it down to the end. You must understand that if you are not thinking of winning a fight, you must not go for wasting too many resources. No matter if it's just for the first few seconds, the ability to reset, heal, and grabbing new ground can turn around an entire fight within no time.
This comes as another reason why you need a hero like Octane, Wraith, Pathfinder, or Horizon in your team squad. These characters come with ability to quickly repositioning an entire squad and that is something which can prove to be game changing.
Another thing that proves decisive here is your approach and ability to engage enemies. There are too many players in lower ranks that think that staying in open or on top of roofs can make them stay safe. While the latter does come with an added advantage, the players are still exposed from every angle.
Hence, its always suggested to cover 50% of your legend's body during the fight. You can use a door, rock, roof or anything according to your convenience. The lesser you stay exposed to these threats, the easier it would become for you to claim the duels.
You must follow this strategy while shifting from one cover to another. Never run out in open field like a mere dummy while expecting your enemies to miss the shot. Try sprinting, sliding, or jumping between random pieces of cover. This will eventually decrease your exposure to gunfire while giving you random windows to heal or reload.
Last but not least, there has to be atleast 5-6 weapons that you have mastered with during your battles. While its not a surety that you will use them all the time, this will polish your attacking skills at the Firing Range. The point here is to have a good collection of around 5-6 guns you're comfortable with during your apex battles.
Talking of the armory, you can include an R-301, Flatline, Hemlock, EVA-8, Mastiff, and Volt SMG. Furthermore, you can have medium range options like assault rifle, along with second artillery to help you out in long range fights.
Conclusion
Regardless of how effective these tips could be, you must not take them as a sure shot way to win the battles. As they say it, there is no 'easy' way to climb the long ladder. So, spend some good time, practice, while having a deep understanding of the playing levels on the macro and micro level.
Still, these tips will help you to make the most out of your daily quick play or ranked matches. So, if you hold the capability to master these, you can stay assured of winning most of the battles against your opponents.
