A lot is going on in today's world and most of these problems are rooted in environmental degradation and wildlife exploitation. There are more reasons than one why we have entered an era of a serious climate crisis. Global warming continues to be an ever-amplifying alarm. Amidst this, natural disasters rooted in climate change almost all the time, take more bits off our journey to be more green and pushes our work towards the environment further back.
The horrific bushfire in Australia two years back was also something that was rooted in the climate crisis and the incident too triggered further warming of the Australian region and beyond. Excessive heat and dryness that were the results of the massive bushfire warmed the average temperature of Australia by a few degrees. It caused unemployment, wide-scale destruction, and more. Besides all that, it also lost a huge part of its vibrant wildlife. The bushfire in that unfortunate summer injured and killed many animals. One of the groups to suffer the most was koalas. The bushfire not only engulfed many koala beers that are native to Australia, but it affected them so much that today it is hanging off the cliff- a step away from extinction. More reasons after the bushfire have also contributed to further decreasing the population of koalas. This urgency has, however, been recognized by Australia and its government and people, who are now working towards preserving the animal line. These are the few things that the Australia is doing to protect the koalas on the verge of extinction:
The Australian bushfire of 2019 is one of the worst environmental tragedies in modern history. The large-scale destruction that was caused by the fire to nature and wildlife will have far-reaching consequences in the Australian region. However, the government and the civilians are coming together in their concerns for the koalas and forming plans and strategies to fight the war against environmental degradation in general and saving the koalas in particular. The locals were volunteering to be firefighters during the bushfire where they noticed an alarming number of animal corpses and also recorded the number of koalas they found dead. Today, the number of koalas has shrunk to 15,000 only and if active steps are not taken by Australia, they will lose their native species. Animals and nature have been bearing the brunt of rampant environmental degradation as a result of various factors - the main being rapid industrialization. Many species are on the brink of extinction and the overall temperature of the climate is also rising gradually. All the animals help maintain the ecosystem and the loss of any species is a very big loss. Therefore, in a world where all our lives, humans, plants and animals alike, are interconnected, active steps must be taken to save koalas and all other species in the face of extinction.
