Jim: Zverev performed admirably to stop Novak Djokovic's attempt for a Golden Calendar Slam. However, the Serb still has the upper hand. He will have to be careful here. Khachanov's performance at the Tokyo Olympics has been exceptional, especially with his triumph over Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3 6-3 in the semifinals. Khachanov can also go toe to toe with Zverev at the baseline.
Despite Khachanov winning their two last matches, there has not been a split in their rivalry. Zverev, however, is the more versatile of the two, having won four Masters titles as well as the ATP Finals. He has also played in a Grand Slam final. This could prove crucial in a match where the margins are small.
Prediction: Zverev in 3
Anurag: It was Djokovic, Medvedev and the rest of the field before the Olympics. Despite being in the final, neither Khachanov nor Zverev are. It is likely that the Russian did not anticipate reaching the final. In taking out Carreno Bustia in a crushing semifinal victory, Khachanov threw 10 aces and was frugal with unforced mistakes. Khachanov's accuracy will not drop in the final, and if he stays calm and focused, he can do a lot.
In one of the most shocking upsets this year, Zverev beat gold medal favorite Djokovic. The German will try to take out Khachanov's backhand side. The German may also be looking to disrupt the opponent's rhythm, possibly by using his slice or volleying to place the ball. Both players serve extremely well, and it could be decided by which player handles the moment more. It would not surprise, however, if Zverev is able to replicate the run he had in the semifinals, it would be surprising if he fails.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
Yesh: Zverev beat Djokovic in a stunning display. But he still has to overcome one hurdle before he can win Gold. That hurdle is tough. Khachanov's serve has been clicking in this tournament, and his baseline game right now is quite impressive. Khachanov will be much more aggressive in rallies in the final than Djokovic, which should make a big difference.
Prediction by Khachanov in 3
Anish: Khachanov had a remarkable ten aces, and 28 winners in semifinals. Although he is not the most well-known Russian player, Khachanov has been their best performer ever since they arrived at Wimbledon. Khachanov is making good use of his powerful forehand and is doing well at net. His unreturnable first serves are the key to Khachanov's success in Tokyo. Carreno Busta won just two points from 28 after Khachanov's first serve.

Zverev, on the other hand, battled back from a set down and defeated Djokovic in an intense display. He pounded 44 winners in this match. Zverev also won a healthy number of points despite his second serve that was tense and he only committed one double fault. He should be proud of the way he fought back from a break in the second set, and maintained the lead. The outcome may be determined by the contest between Khachanov's serve and Zverev's return. Zverev is more experienced and has a better baseline. After his semifinal performance, Zverev will be eager to win gold. Khachanov ran a strong race to the final but may have to settle with silver.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
Damian: Khachanov has thrived in Tokyo's extreme heat. The Russian is physically strong and can take the heat better than many other players. Zverev is one of the few who can match his abilities in this area. Although Khachanov is an ATP Masters 1000 winner, he has played in fewer finals at the elite level than the German. Zverev was not ready to win a major title at the US Open last year, but he will make it right this time. His experience is his ally and he can only claim a huge win against Djokovic to calm down his nerves.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
