Among the search engines, Google is the elephant in the room. With over 85% market capitalization in the search engine market, you can never afford to ignore Google when it comes to Search Engine Optimization. Google now processes over 40,000 search queries every second on average, which translates to over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide.
It comes as no surprise that Google is the most visited website. To put a number on it, Google has been visited 62.19 billion times this year (Similarweb, 2019).
Everyday billions of users rely on Google to carry out their daily searches. But, apart from being a search engine, Google also provides a bunch of other services. This includes Gmail, their popular email service, as well as Google news, Google shopping, and serving as a video and images platform as well.
With Google being the most visited website in the world, this next statistic won't be too surprising for you. Google dominates the search engine market. In fact, as of July 2019, Google holds 92.18 percent of the market share (Gs.statcounter, 2019).
To put this stat into perspective, let's compare the search engine market share of Google with other popular search engines out there. Bing has 2.32 percent of the market share, Yahoo! has 1.6 percent of the total market share, and both Baidu, and Yandex each own less than a percent of the total market share.
Since the introduction of Google search in 1997, all the other search engines have faced quite a hard time trying to reach the same level as Google. Over the past decade, Google has maintained a high market share of the search engine market. And it makes the majority of its revenue through advertising. But over the course of time, Google has also expanded its services to mail, productivity tools, mobile devices, and other ventures. This combination has also resulted in Google earning one of the highest tech company revenues in 2018.
This sets the perspective.
Google has spearheaded the evolution of the search engine market. With successive updates that literally rattled the search engine optimization industry, Google has revolutionized the way search engines are perceived and SEO plans are devised. The hardest hit area has been "Link building". Back in 2012-13, thin pages with a bunch of low quality links were easily able to creep into the first page of Google. Panda, Penguin, and the BERT updates changed that forever.
While Content remains the king and the most important factor in determining the SERP rank of a website, the other most important factor still remains the links. But with blog comments, forum links and other low quality techniques completely out of the equation now, the only option left is Editorial quality, contextual backlinks.
This has presented the Press Release Distribution companies with a unique opportunity of opening up their distribution networks for the guest posting industry. One such website is Mobiritz.com. The website has risen sharply in rankings, traffic and audience over the last 12 months and now presents an excellent value for money for high quality link building and for those interested to publish a guest post on high authority website.
