A 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes is a great way to explore some of Morocco's most fascinating destinations. Here's a suggested itinerary: On the first day, you will start early from Marrakech and head east through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit Ait Benhaddou, a famous kasbah (fortified village) used in movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then keep going to Ouarzazate, which is known as the "Gateway to the Sahara" and has a lot of movie studios. After lunch, drive through the Rose Valley to reach the Dades Gorges, where you can admire the stunning rock formations and spend the night in a local hotel
The second day starts after breakfast with a drive to the Todra Gorges, a series of narrow canyons with towering cliffs on either side. You can take a short hike here before continuing to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and market. Then, head to Merzouga, a small village on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Take a camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes before spending the night in a traditional Berber tent.
The second day of this 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes starts after you wake up early to watch the sunrise over the desert before returning to Merzouga by camel.
Then, drive to Rissani to explore the traditional souks and see the ruins of the ancient city of Sijilmasa. Continue to Midelt, a town in the Middle Atlas Mountains, and stop for lunch. Then, drive to Ifrane, a picturesque town known for its alpine architecture and cool climate. Finally, arrive in Fes in the evening and check into your hotel.
The last day will be devoted to exploring Fes, one of Morocco's most historic cities. Visit the medieval medina (old town), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its famous tanneries, mosques, and souks. You can also see the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, and the Bou Inania Madrasa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner before departing for your next destination.
This itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and travel schedule.
